All the talk about the XFL coming back might down if the Alliance of American Football League turns out to be a success.

One of the biggest moves for the upstart football league was the hiring of Steve Spurrier, who is set to coach the Orlando franchise. The team will play its home games at Spectrum Stadium, the home field of the UCF Knights. Spurrier sent out an invite to former NFL QB Tim Tebow to come and restart his football career, but he reportedly declined.

“He said, ‘Coach, I’m gonna keep swinging the bat and see what happens,'” Spurrier said recently on “The Paul Finebaum Show,” according to Saturday Down South. “I told him we’d have a No. 15 down in Orlando waiting for him.”

Although Spurrier is a legend at Florida much like Tebow, he never got the opportunity to coach him, and it looks like he never will.

As far as his baseball career is concerned, Tebow is hitting .256/.336/.400 with five homers and 24 RBIs in Double-A this season.
