Lakers Fan Buys 40 Billboards In Effort To Recruit Paul George (PIC)

Back in March, a Lakers season ticket holder bought some billboards when the Cleveland Cavaliers came to town in hopes of luring LeBron James to Los Angeles. Now that fan is doing the same thing for Paul George—only on a much larger scale.

Jacob Emrani, a Los Angeles-based attorney, bought four billboards trying to convince LeBron to bring his talents to Hollywood, and naturally each one also doubled as an advertisement for his personal injury law firm. While we have yet to find out if the billboards worked on LeBron, they obviously drummed up business for Emrani’s practice, because now he’s bought a whopping 40 billboards begging Paul George to come join the Lakers.

“As Lakers fans, we all thought we had Paul George in the bag, and he was 100 percent going to come and in the past few weeks when I heard people saying he might be considering [staying with the Thunder] and having second thoughts, I felt like nobody was really giving attention to Paul George,” Emrani explained to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk. “I feel like it is extremely important for Paul George to see this and see how Lakers Nation is so excited about bringing him home.”

“When he went out there last year and said he wanted to play for the Lakers,” Emrani continued, “it was the first ray of hope that we were going back to being a destination where people want to come. Now the time has come.”



Emrani came up with six different designs for the 40 billboards. Three target Paul George alone. Three feature George and James together. All of them state they were paid for by
