REPORT: Thunder Discussing Possible Carmelo, Jeremy Lin Deal With Nets
The Brooklyn Nets have quietly been fielding calls about trading Jeremy Lin this offseason, but now comes a report that states he might be headed to the Western Conference.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are still exploring options as they look to move on from Carmelo Anthony, and the Brooklyn Nets are said to be a potential option.
Mitch Lawrence of Sporting News reported this week that one deal on the horizon could send Anthony and draft picks to Brooklyn while bringing Jeremy Lin to OKC. Carmelo wouldn’t be suiting up for the team, because the Nets would buy him out, per Mitch Lawrence’s report.

The OKC Thunder are looking to save upwards of $100 million if they cut, waive, or trade Carmelo during the summer. Melo’s staggering $27.9M salary and his no-trade clause makes any deal tough, but the incentive to be bought out by a team, giving him the option to choose a suitor could make the process less painful.
