Captivating Video Shows How The Number 22 Has Haunted Cleveland Sports (VIDEO)
No fans in America have endured the type of heartbreak that Cleveland sports fans have. Sure, the Cavaliers are only a few years removed from their 2016 NBA championship, but they are also fresh off of two straight NBA Finals losses and they just watched LeBron James ditch them for the second time in his career. And then there’s the Cleveland Indians, who haven’t won a World Series since 1948 and just recently let a 3-1 series lead in the 2016 Fall Classic slip away against the Chicago Cubs.
Oh, and how could we forget the Cleveland Browns. They haven’t even sniffed the postseason since 2002 and they’re currently working on a 54-year championship drought of their own.
Why have Cleveland sports teams been forced to endure so much sadness over the years? Apparently, it all has to do with the number 22, as the following video explains:
In case you’re wondering, Larry Nance Jr. wears no. 22 for the Cavs, Jason Kipnis wears that number for the Indians, and Jabrill Peppers wears it for the Browns. It may be time for each of them to consider a number change.
