Over the past couple of years, athletes have had to deal with Twitter trolls digging up old tweets from when they were younger, and it’s caused a whole bunch of trouble in the process.

The unearthing of these tweets were mainly done to NBA and NFL players, but that recently changed and now MLB players are starting to feel the burn.

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Josh Hader felt the burn of his old tweets during the 2018 MLB All-star game. It was a story that dominated headlines until Atlanta Braves pitcher Sean Newcomb got to experience the same thing just minutes after he almost threw a no-hitter.

That prompted Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester to take to Twitter on Monday and advise athletes to take some time to scrub their accounts clean of anything they wouldn’t want plastered on the news.
