As long as Khalil Mack continues to dominate on the field of play, Jon Gruden and the Oakland Raiders are going to be bombarded by questions as to why they would trade him in his prime.
On Sunday, the Oakland Raiders squeaked away with their first win of the season after starting the year with three-straight losses. But before he took the field for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, the head coach checked in on the former player to see what he did in his 4th game with the Chicago Bears.
“Damn – Khalil Mack had another strip sack? Are you … kidding me?” Gruden said as he scrolled through his phone, according to NFL.com’s Michael Silver.
After yet another brilliant performance Sunday against the Buccaneers, Mack has recorded five sacks, four forced fumbles and interception and a touchdown.
He’s an early Defensive Player of the Year candidate and a potential under-the-radar MVP candidate, which makes the Raiders, who gave up 40+ to the Browns on Sunday, look even more stupid on their end for trading him.
The team is dead last in the league in sacks with five in four games.
