Michael Jordan Returns Home To Pass Out Thanksgiving Meals, Air Jordans, & Care Packages To Hurricane Victims (VIDEO)

The legend that is Michael Jordan continued his efforts to help those in need and that were impacted by Hurricane Florence on Tuesday, when he returned to his hometown of Wilmington, N.C. to distribute Thanksgiving meals.

The Charlotte Hornets owner had previously donated $2 million to Florence relief efforts and he also gave away 200 pairs of Air Jordans and care packages to local kids.

“To me, if I can use this to inspire them, just by giving them this start, great,” said Jordan. “If it helps them educationally, if it helps from a motivational standpoint, obviously it’s Thanksgiving, to me that’s a start, because that’s where you’re going to have to rebuild is from a start.”

“I wanted to be an igniter to the process,” Jordan told Steve Reed of The Associated Press. “But it’s going to take a long time before things get back to normal. Whatever way I can contribute I will.”
