It’s been well over a month since the Boston Red Sox defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series to claim another title, but there is still no word on whether the team will visit the White House.

The team needs to visit with President Donald Trump, regardless of their opinions of him, so says Brad Penny.

The former MLB pitcher was stopped by TMZ Sports recently and stated the Red Sox not visiting the White House would be a huge mistake.

“You gotta go,” the ex-star pitcher says … “You support the President whether you voted for him or not … I think they just gotta go.”

The 2-time All-Star went to George W. Bush‘s White House after his Marlins won it all back in 2003.

Penny thinks the Red Sox can send a strong message to the many teams who have protested by not going to the White House after winning a championship.

“All those protests and stuff, to me, we want everybody who’s in office to do good … I feel like a lot of people want Trump to fail and it’s unfortunate.”
