Oddsmakers Have Kaepernick, Manziel, & Vick As Favorites Among Ex-NFL QBs To Join XFL
The XFL is still over a year away from making its much anticipated return, and with the announcement of the eight host cities, there are several former NFL quarterbacks that have been given favorable odds to land in Vince McMahon’s rebooted football league.
BetOnline.ag has former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick as the betting favorite to join the XFL at +100 odds, followed by ex-Browns QB Johnny Manziel at +200, Tim Tebow +500, Michael Vick +1000, and Brett Favre +10000.
When WWE CEO Vince McMahon announced the revival of the league, he also stated that the XFL won’t allow its employees to take political or social stands while on the job.
“People don’t want social and political issues coming into play when they are trying to be entertained,” McMahon said. “We want someone who wants to take a knee to do their version of that on their personal time.”
McMahon also stated the XFL will be focusing just as much on players’ level of character as their on-field ability, saying that those with a criminal background – including DUIs – won’t be accepted. That might end up keeping Johnny Manziel out of the league.
