One of the best things about the Super Bowl aside from the actual teams that are competing for the Lombardi Trophy, has to be the funny commercials. Fans who don’t even watch football much will even tune it just to watch these commercials and see how far these companies are willing to push the dial.
Unfortunately, we live in a PC society so everything has to be just right so it won’t offend the masses.
Devour Frozen Foods plans to have a 30-second ad in the third quarter of the Super Bowl that describes its product as ‘food porn.’ The ad will be a much tamer version of the real one that was released by the company on Wednesday.
“It’s obviously an abbreviated version that we feel is appropriate for the Super Bowl audience,” Katy Marshall, head of marketing for the brand, tells USA TODAY Sports.
“We’ve worked diligently with CBS over the last few months,” she says, “to execute a spot where both parties could agree.”
