It’s been a long road for Alex Smith since his 2018 season ended against the Houston Texans due to a devastating broken leg.

He made his first public appearance in January after surgery and was seemingly in good spirits as he watched the Washington Wizards.

The 34-year-old hasn’t revealed whether or not he plans to return to next season but he did somewhat give an encouraging update on the health of his leg when he showed up to Redskins’ OTAs throwing the ball around.

Can’t see his leg, but it’s good to see Alex Smith in good spirits and out there supporting his teammates.

Here’s how his leg looked just one week ago:

Hopefully all is well as he continues to fight back from a compound and spiral fractures of his right leg.

In his absence, the team traded for Case Keenum and drafted Dwayne Haskins.
