The Boston Celtics went from possibly being of the best teams in the Eastern Conference before last season to one of the most disappointing to basically being gutted this offseason.
It was already reported that Kyrie Irving had been “ghosting” the Celtics since the team’s playoff run ended, basically confirming that he will not be coming back and the news only got worse later in the day.
Al Horford, who recently opted out of his player option for 2019-20, will reportedly not be re-signing with the Boston Celtics as well, and will look to sign a long-term deal elsewhere.
That’s two starters the Celtics might not this offseason.
Along with potentially losing two starters, they also lost on the Anthony Davis sweepstakes when he got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
It’s going to be interesting to see how general manager Danny Ainge can save the upcoming season and years to come.
