Kawhi Leonard’s free agency has felt like it’s taken forever, but it’s only truly been three days.
Leonard is said to have his choice between the Lakers, Clippers, and Raptors, with his final meeting being held Wednesday in Toronto.
Jalen Rose made social media lose its mind when he took to ESPN’s “Get Up” and revealed how confident he is that Kawhi will be returning to the Raptors.
What I’m 99% hearing is that Kawhi Leonard will be returning to Toronto and signing a two-year contract. He just completed his eighth season, that’s gonna put him at 10 years, that puts him in position to get the largest available maximum deal for a player of his tenure.”
To make the city of Toronto go crazy even more is when ESPN’s Mark Jones spoke with an agent and he dropped the news that Kawh was indeed staying in Toronto.
Only time will actually tell if both of them were correct.
Leonard is eligible to sign a five-year, $190 million supermax contract with the Raptors, while other teams, can only offer a max of four-years, $140.6 million.
The three-time All Star averaged 26.6 points and 7.6 rebounds in the regular season while leading Toronto to its first NBA title this past season.
