Paul George is a happy man.
On Friday night on the West Coast and Saturday morning pretty much everywhere else, the Los Angeles Clippers pulled off a trade that changed the entire landscape of the NBA by landing two NBA stars in a span of a few minutes.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski revealed the Clippers landed Paul George in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder, just a year after he signed a massive deal to stay with the franchise.
He will now be joining Kawhi Leonard on the Los Angeles Clippers.
Video would soon surface showing his reaction to the trade and he looked and sounded like a man who was happy to be out of OKC.
There’s a reason for that.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, teams across the league were aware of the “discontent” felt by both George and Westbrook in Oklahoma City.
George averaged a career-high 28 points and 8.2 rebounds this past season.
