OJ Simpson Calls Out Colin Kaepernick & His Stance On “Betsy Ross” Flag (VIDEO)

Nike underwent a bit of a controversy last week when they decided to ax their upcoming Nike Air Max 1 “4th Of July” colorway after Colin Kaepernick called the powers to be and talked about how offensive the presence of the Betsy Ross flag on the shoe was to people of color.

The flag also has ties to an era of slavery as well.

Nike was met with a ton of backlash after the announcement, with politicians condemning them for their actions.

Just as we all expected, OJ Simpson has now also gave his opinion on the subject.

Simpson called out former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick for complaining about the flag-inspired Nike shoe design, questioning his stance on the sneakers.

“Lately, I saw where Kaepernick pointed out that the Betsy Ross flag was being used by some negative groups as their symbol. I say don’t let the negative win,” OJ explained. “As far as I’m concerned, that flag represents the birth of America.”

Simpson also spoke on “a lot of good things” that has happened during his “39 years” which includes improved race relations.

“The pitcher for Alabama was black and the lead-off for Texas was black,” Simpson remembered. “I said, ‘Now that’s something to celebrate.’ Because when I was in school, those schools didn’t allow blacks to play in any sport.”
