Before Odell Beckham Jr. made waves in New York — Victor Cruz had Giants fans doing the salsa every time he caught a pass or scored until his career got derailed by injuries.
Cruz hasn’t appeared as a member of the New York Giants since the end of the 2016 season.
Fast forward to 2019 and it seems Cruz would love to catch passes from Eli Manning once again. The team could certainly use the help.
Corey Coleman’s season came to an end after he suffered a torn ACL on Thursday. Sterling Shepard suffered a fractured thumb that will likely keep him out until Week 1. Darius Slayton is currently dealing with a hamstring injury, and now Golden Tate is on tap to miss four games after the league suspended him for violating the NFL’s Performance Enhancing Substance Policy.
On Saturday, Cruz took to Twitter and stated his willingness to play for the Giants.
Cruz was released from the Giants before the 2017 season and did not play a down of football since. His 2014 and 2015 seasons were marred by numerous missed games due to injuries.
During his last full season in 2016, Cruz racked up 39 catches for 586 yards and a touchdown. He had a short stint with the Chicago Bears but never saw the field with them in the regular season.
