Bryce Harper is not having a good week.

He had to sit and watch as the Philadelphia Phillies got eliminated from playoff contention by the Washington Nationals and then watch 24 hours later, watch his former team clinch an NL Wild Card spot at their expense.

Things only got worse as he proceeded to call his former fan base out for heckling him in the eighth inning of Wednesday night’s game.

“They were fine all game, talking about myself and things like that,” Harper said. ”I get it everywhere I go. That’s nothing new. But the last two innings, it’s just not right. It’s not right.”

He then stated how eager he was to get back to Philly and the great fans there.

“I’ve got 60,000 fans up in Philly that appreciate me as a player, appreciate me as an individual and my family, as well,” Harper said. ”I owe a lot to those people up there in Philly because they show up for me every single night and they’re there to cheer us on and boo us and keep us going as a team and as individuals as well.”

Harper wouldn’t elaborate on what happened, but his wife certainly did.

Kayla Harper took to Twitter and called out the fans for bringing up their 4-week old son during the game.

Not cool.

Harper left Washington after playing seven years with the franchise, having made six All-Star Games and winning the 2015 NL MVP Award. He became an enemy ever since signing a $330 million, 13-year contract with the rival Phillies.
