PGA Tour Golfer Denies Spitting On Tony Romo’s Ball During Safeway Open (VIDEO)

Tony Romo is certainly getting better and better at golf. This week, the former NFL star and current CBS broadcaster participated in the Safeway Open with a number of PGA Tour players.

He even played well enough on Thursday to shoot a 2-under par. Friday was a different story as he shot six-over and missed the cut. There was also some bit of controversy during his round from another golfer.

On the 16th hole, Romo had hit into the group in front of him by mistake, but one of those players he hit into is catching a lot of criticism for his perceived actions.

Footage shows Kristoffer Ventura, after making his putt, leaning over towards Romo’s ball and allegedly spitting on it.

Ventura took to Twitter to defend himself, stating that he was simply making sure he didn’t leave any spike marks in Romo’s line.

If Romo had actually made the cut, he would’ve definitely skipped calling the Vikings vs. Bears game for CBS.
