For the first time in five tries, the Cleveland Browns came out winners on Sunday when they defeated the Buffalo Bills with a thrilling 19-16 victory at FirstEnergy Stadium.
A last minute Baker Mayfield strike to Rashard Higgins for the eventual game-winning score and Bills kicker Steven Hauschka missing a game-tying kick gave Browns fans something to cheer for for the 1st time in a month.
Mayfield has taken a bunch of criticism this season, as he has passed for 2,201 yards, 9 touchdowns and 12 interceptions this season, but he had a great performance on Sunday that kept the Browns slim playoff hopes alive.
Baker’s wife, Emily Mayfield, wasn’t really a fan of the fan base trying to jump back on her husband’s bandwagon, sop she took to Instagram and threw shots at the Browns’ faithful.
“Fair weather fans are HILARIOUS to me,” Emily Mayfield wrote. “Get out of here lollllll.”
Emily Mayfield is currently part of local Cleveland station WKYC as a special correspondent.
Emily and Baker got married in the offseason, just before the start of the season.
