Chris Ballard is not one to ever mince words.
The Indianapolis Colts general manager was asked about 2019 starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett on Thursday and promptly told the media that “the jury is still out” on Brissett as the team’s starter in 2020.
He did note that he believes Brissett will be the team’s starting quarterback in Week 1 of next season.
Ballard also revealed to reporters that Andrew Luck’s retirement didn’t really hit him until just a few days ago.
He then gave a very sobering answer about the possibility of Luck coming out of retirement in 2020:
Everything pretty much went south with the Colts after his sudden retirement. The Colts went from favorites to win the AFC South and possibly playing for a Super Bowl, to finishing 3rd in the AFC South with a 7-9 record.
