Joe Burrow Says Odell Beckham Jr. Handed Him REAL Money After National Championship Game
Former LSU star Odell Beckham Jr. managed to get in the headlines during and after the National Championship game after video surfaced showing him handing out money to several players on the Tigers’ squad.
On Tuesday, an LSU official told Brooks Kubena of The Advocate that the money handed out wasn’t real. A comment made by Burrow, however, is being interpreted as him saying Beckham was handing out real money.
The Heisman Trophy winner recently visited the popular Barstool Sports podcast Pardon My Take and was asked by Dan Katz about Beckham handing out money:
Katz: Did Odell give you money?
Burrow: Umm… yeah. I’m not a student-athlete anymore, so I can say yeah.
Katz: Yeah, that’s sick. He was just handing out cash? I was just thinking it would have been awesome if Odell just started printing fake money as just a flex.
Burrow: With like his face on it?
Katz: Yeah, like you try to pay for a drink and… this is Monopoly money. That’s sick that he was just handing out cash. How much cash did he bring?
Burrow: I don’t know.
The Tigers won their first national title since 2007 following a 42-25 victory over Clemson.
Beckham, the three-time Pro Bowler, played three seasons with the Tigers from 2011-13 before being selected No. 12 overall by the New York Giants in the 2014 NFL draft.
