Last month, Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard arrested on domestic abuse charges. The police report stated Howard and his fiancee got into a verbal argument over a purse Howard purchased that she was not aware of.
The report went on to state how the altercation became physical when Howard grabbed both her arms and pushed her against a mirrored glass wall in the hallway of their bedroom.
According to the report, Howard’s fiancee had visible scratches and redness on her right wrist and forearm after he released his hold and she fell to the floor.
Over a month later, we know have audio of the 911 call his fiancee made that night.
Head coach Brian Flores declined to say whether he expects Howard to remain with the team.
“We’re still gathering information on that,” Flores said. “We take situations like that very, very seriously. We’re gathering information, and it’s unfortunate. How does it impact us? It does impact us. Again, we take these things very seriously. We’ll gather all the information and do what’s best for the organization.”
“We have a process here,” he said. “We’ll go through that process. … We’ll talk through this and have a conversation with [Howard] once we gather all the information and make a decision.”
