19-Year-Old Missouri State Basketball Commit A.J. James Dies In Accidental Shooting

Ashley “A.J.” James has passed away in an accidental shooting.

Officers were called to an apartment just before midnight when they stated the 19-year-old Missouri State basketball commit was said to have grabbed a handgun from another man when it accidentally went off, according to WTKR.

“They found an adult male, identified Ashley James, who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

He got emergency medical care but ended up dying from his injury, according to police.”

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound shooting guard was playing at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia Beach, Va. this season and was scheduled to join MSU later on this year.

Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office would later determine that no criminal charges would be filed against anyone.
