You don’t have to scroll far on social media before you find several people who think the entire coronavirus pandemic is merely the flu, fake, or just blown out of proportion by the media.

There is at least one professional athlete that thinks the coronavirus isn’t real at all.

Chad Jennings of The Athletic revealed that one Boston Red Sox player said Wednesday that he believes the coronavirus outbreak is a hoax.

The player who actually made the remark was in an interview with another reporter at the time, so Jennings elected not to reveal his identity.

According to worldometer, which tracks all things coronavirus, more than 167,000 people from around the world have contracted the virus and over 6,400 have passed away.

It should also be noted that more than 76K have recovered.
