Losing a Super Bowl can be gut-wrenching for teams, but doing it in the way that the Atlanta Falcons did makes it even worse.
Super Bowl LI went down in history when the New England Patriots mounted a furious 28-3 comeback to defeat the Falcons in NRG Stadium in 2017. The players, team, and fan base has been trolled over it ever since.
It has now happened again.
The Falcons official Twitter account recently presented a photo where it told users they could only pick three choices out of a list of nine, but they made it in tic-tac-toe form and the only right answer was three Falcons.
The Saints Twitter account replied by picking numbers 2,8, and 3, which referenced that infamous score in 2017.
The Falcons walked right into that one.
On top of that, ESPN announced they were broadcasting the Saints’ 2006 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night, which was the first game played in the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina. The biggest moment came when Steve Gleason blocked a punt and the Superdome lost its mind.
