Big names during the NFL draft like #1 overall pick Joe Burrow, 12th pick Henry Ruggs and 17th pick CeeDee Lamb all got some custom jewelry for their big day to find out which city they would be headed to for years to come to play professional football.
TMZ reports that it was at least 10 picks that got jewelry and they got the full story from the Houston jeweler Leo Frost who outfits some of the top athletes on the planet.
Ceedee Lamb’s #32 diamond piece was a tribute to his late uncle.
Frost actually had face-to-feet meetings with the prospects before the country would shutdown due to the coronavirus.
Here are the rest via TMZ:
“Raiders WR Henry Ruggs — who famously holds up 3 fingers every time he scores a TD — got the same hand gesture immortalized on a chain. It’s all to honor his best friend, Rod Scott, who died in a car crash in 2016.”
“Andrew Thomas — the massive offensive lineman selected by the NY Giants — got an incredible bear pendant because he embodies a giant grizzly bear!”
Frost stated he is still working on Joe Burrow’s piece.
Just in case you were wondering, all of these rookies received discounts for these custom pieces, which Frost is hoping will turn into more business with them later on down the road.
