The NFL recently redesigned its website and fans couldn’t help but to notice that former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is listed as “retired.”

Kaepernick’s girlfriend, Nessa, strongly to the characterization.

“The @NFL @nflcommish @NFLPA lying on their website claiming @Kaepernick7 ‘retired,’” she said on Twitter. “Colin did NOT retire. You cowards blackballed him [because] he peacefully protested against police brutality. He’s a Super Bowl QB [and] should be playing [because] his stats show that.”

Social media also went off:

It was just last November when the league organized a workout for Kaepernick to be seen by several teams, but things changed drastically when he suddenly moved the venue to a local high school so the workout could be recorded.

Only a few teams showed up, but he still received no interest or offers to tryout.
