Social Media Erupts Over NHL’s New Seattle Kraken Dropping Hype Video On New Name & Logo (VIDEO + TWEETS)

The seas of the National Hockey League got slightly more terrifying after the NHL’s newest team made it official that they will be known as the Seattle Kraken when they take the ice at the Climate Pledge Arena for the 2021-22 season.

The league’s 32nd franchise made the announcement on Thursday. They will be the first expansion team to join the NHL since the Vegas Golden Knights began to play four years earlier in 2017-18.

Seattle previously had a hockey team and some credit that team for changing hockey forever. The Seattle Metropolitans became the first American team to win the Stanley Cup in 1917.

The team says general seats will start at $50 per game and there will be some single-game tickets starting at $20.
