Social Media Hilariously Erupts In Favor of The NBA Suspending Marijuana Testing, J.R Smith Trends After (TWEETS)

Twitter made some highly amusing jokes about the free-agent guard after it was reported this week that the NBA plans not to test players for marijuana use in the 2020-21 season, continuing a policy that began last summer in the Orlando bubble.

Smith trended on Twitter almost immediately after the news and the jokes were quite hilarious, It’s not hard to see why since he has been a longtime advocate for the legalization of marijuana and promoted a weed company ahead of Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

NBA spokesman Mike Bass has addressed the league’s decision to not test players for marijuana in the upcoming season, The New York Times’ Marc Stein reports.

“Due to the unusual circumstances in conjunction with the pandemic, we have agreed with the NBPA to suspend random testing for marijuana for the 2020-21 season and focus our random testing program on performance-enhancing products and drugs of abuse,” Bass said.
