REPORT: J.J. Watt Seriously Considering Signing With Cleveland Browns
J.J. Watt may have already decided on his free agent future and it very well may keep him in the AFC.
On Tuesday, Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot reported that the former Houston Texans defensive end is seriously considering signing with the Browns.
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year is reportedly keen on joining Cleveland due to its ability to pay him market value as well as the team’s potential of being an actual contender. She also notes the culture being created by HC Kevin Stefanski should also be appealing for Watt coming out of the toxic environment in Houston.
Not too long after his release from the Texans — Ed Werder of ESPN reported that there are approximately twelve teams interested in Watt including the Steelers, Browns, Bills, and Titans.
The 31-year-old is coming off a 2020 season where he recorded 52 tackles, five sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles, a recovery, a defensive touchdown, and seven passes defended.
