Golf Sensation Paige Spiranac Says She ‘Can’t Stop Thinking’ About Tiger Woods After Brutal Crash (TWEET)
Much like the country was in shock in January 2020, we are all hoping for the absolute best after hearing that Tiger Woods had sustained multiple injuries in a single-car crash on Tuesday.
The 45-year-old golf legend was driving shortly after 7 a.m. when his SUV crossed a median and veered across two lanes of road before hitting a curb, hitting a tree and landing on its side in the brush, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said.
Villanueva said it was “nothing short of a miracle” that Woods was alive.
Professional golfer and social media personality Paige Spiranac, is one of many athletes and public figures to wish Tiger well in his recovery. In her latest tweet, she said she couldn’t stop thinking about him and sent him prayers as well as to his family.
“Can’t stop thinking about Tiger and hoping he is okay,” she says in the social media post. “If anyone can overcome this it is him. Prayers to him and his family.”
According to a statement on his Twitter account on Tuesday, Woods was “awake, responsive, and recovering” in the hospital from major surgery.
Dr. Anish Mahajan, chief medical officer and interim CEO of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, said Woods is recovering from a long surgical procedure to repair “significant orthopedic injuries to his right lower extremity.”
“Comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones were stabilized by inserting a rod into the tibia,” said Mahajan. “Additional injuries to the bones of the foot and ankle were stabilized with a combination of screws and pins.”
“Trauma to the muscle and soft-tissue of the leg required surgical release of the covering of the muscles to relieve pressure due to swelling,” he continued.
