Rooster Murders Owner At Illegal Cockfighting Event In India
This may sounds like an Onion article, but believe me. It’s not.
A rooster in India killed it’s owner after slashing the man in the groin area with a three-inch blade during an illegal cockfighting event in Southern India.
According to TMZ, the rooster was being handled by its owner, 45-year-old Thangulla Satish, when it got spooked and stabbed Satish in the groin area with a blade that was attached to it’s leg. It is believed that the blade slashed Satish’s femoral artery, causing him to bleed out and die on his way to the hospital.
The event was taking place illegally in a village within the state of Telangana, called Lothunur. Police are investigating the death, claiming the organizers could face up to two years in prison.
As for those who may be wondering why the bird had a blade on it’s leg, such a practice is common for these types of events, as the roosters will have blades attached to their legs in order to ensure a bloodier, quicker bout.
