Dez Bryant had something to say and did so with a plethora of tweets.
Deshaun Watson is set to face more misconduct allegations as the NFL appeared to launch an investigation into the claims made against the Houston Texans quarterback.
Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing three women who filed civil lawsuits against Watson alleging sexual assault and civil assault, wrote on his Instagram that his law firm has a total of nine women who have made similar claims.
At the same time, free agent WR Dez Bryant took to Twitter and sent out a number of tweets about Black athletes being targets.
Check them out:
“The best thing to do whenever someone is trying to tarnish your name and you know it’s a lie… live your life…people will believe what they want to believe….the wrong thing to do is go missing”
“Black athlete whenever you enter a professional sport you become a target!!! I don’t give a damn what anybody say… you don’t like it kiss my ass… I don’t like the dirty games”
“A coach in the NFL told me don’t ever think any of these coaches give a damn about you..we was talking about black athletes in general..he said once you are used up they don’t give a damn about you..he said you are just a # I respected him for saying that but I knew that already”
“Everything I do is for the athlete since I’ve been cut … Black white and any other race… whenever you become a professional it’s different and you have to take notice of that if you don’t that’s when negative outcomes present themselves.. depression anxiety death”
Two of the lawsuits against Watson alleged civil assault and a third alleged sexual assaults.
“The Buzbee Law Firm has now been hired by nine women to bring cases against Deshaun Watson. The allegations are similar,” he wrote in the social media post. “We have filed three, and, as we complete our due diligence, will file the remaining ones in due course. We are talking to several others. Cornelia and I appreciate the kind words, and outpouring of support for these brave women who are wiling [sic] to come forward and be heard. No matter what you do in life, there will always be detractors. As my dad always said: ‘If you are right, go ahead!’ And so we go.”
