Umpire Takes Ball To The Chin As Brewers Head Trainer Collapses On Field (VIDEO)
What an insane scene in Milwaukee over the weekend.
The end of Saturday’s Twins-Brewers game included a double medical scare involving veteran umpire C.B. Bucknor and one of the officials who came to his aid.
Bucknor was struck in the neck by a pitch that hit off the leg of Minnesota catcher Ryan Jeffers. Bucknor went down to a knee and several medical officials came to his aid, and that included Brewers assistant athletic trainer Dave Yeager.

Bucknor eventually was able to get to his feet, but then attention was turned to Yaeger as he suddenly collapsed to the field.

“Dave’s doing good,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said after the Twins’ 2-0 win. “He’s with our medical people now, but he’s doing good. He was down on one knee, helping C.B. out, and when he stood up, he kind of lost his equilibrium and fainted. He walked off under his own power and he’s feeling better now. It was very scary, but I think he’s going to be OK.”
Yeager is in his 17th season with the Brewers and 10th in his current role.
