Jessica Ditzel: Meet The Rarely Seen Wife Of Joe Rogan
It comes as a surprise to many that despite being married to Joe Rogan, one of the most famous people in America, his wife, Jessica Ditzel, has kept a remarkably low profile over the years.
The couple has been together for two decades and married for 12 years. You would think that we would see her plastered all over his social media. Or at least make an appearance every once in a while, right?! Apparently, privacy is rather important to Jessica and Joe, perhaps to keep their daughters from the media spotlight.
There is some information out there on Ditzel though. So let’s take look into who the mysterious wife of Joe Rogan really is.
The Early Years
Jessica Ditzel’s story dates way back before she became Joe Rogan’s wife. It begins in Sugar Land, Texa. There, on July 18th, 1975, she was born to a well to do American family. Her full birth name was Jessica Sloan Ditzel—and she has one older sister named Trinity.
Trinity, like Jessica, likes to stay out of the limelight.
Although Jessica and her family spent their early years together in Sugar Land, right around her 13th birthday, he parents moved to Houston and the family lived there for the rest of her formative years.
It is believed that following her graduation from high school, she journeyed on to attend California State University, Long Beach. However, she eventually jumped ship to the University of Arizona, where she earned a double degree in Psychology and Molecular and Cellular Biology.
Joe Rogan is not Jessica Ditzel’s First Celebrity Relationship
Before she met Joe Rogan, Jessica was in a relationship with Keven Conner, also known as “Dino” from the band “H-Town.” For those who don’t know, H-Town was an R&B group from Houston, where Jessica was raised. The band was comprised of the aforementioned Dino, his brother, Solomon “Shazam” Conner, and their friend Darryl “G.I.” Jackson.
The band was a success in the early nineties and produced a handful of hits, including, “Knockin’ Da Boots,” “A Thin Line Between Love & Hate,” and “They Like it Slow.”
The couple was together for years—and even had a child together, Kayja Rose Conner. Ditzel was just 21 years of age when she had her daughter too! Talk about taking on a big responsibility at a young age.
As with many celebrity relationships, it was not built to last. The relationship fizzled out while Kayja was still young. Then, in 2003, things took an even darker turn. Dino was killed in a car crash at the age of 28.
Ditzel and Conner were not together at the time of the crash. Despite that, it was surely a traumatic and tragic experience in her life.
Interestingly, Kayja has decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and is pursuing a career in the music business under the name Kayja Rose—even though she has since legally changed her last name to Rogan.
How did Jessica and Joe Meet?
Although Joe Rogan and Jessica Ditzel are far from the typical “Hollywood Couple”—as they largely stay out of the tabloids and appear to have a healthy relationship and personal life—they did meet in a rather stereotypical way.
The couple met back in 2001 when Joe Rogan was frequenting a bar in California that Ditzel was working at as a cocktail waitress to support her daughter Kayja. Shortly after that first fateful encounter, Rogan and Ditzel started dating.
Of course, this was before the social media era took the world by storm, but even then, it seemed that the two had a rather tranquil relationship. They dated for eight years and officially tied the knot in 2009 at a fiercely private ceremony in California.
Ditzel must have really won Rogan over because in his younger years he was outspoken about marriage being “f–king dumb.”
Despite being smitten with his seemingly loving marriage, the former Fear Factor host told The Rolling Stone that that the two signed a prenuptial agreement because, “Of course,” he explained, “I’m ridiculous and dumb, but I’m not stupid.”
You have to wonder how that comment went over in the Rogan household when Jessica read the article!
Speaking of Money… How much are Rogan and Ditzel worth?
Celebrity net worth is always an interesting topic to us normal folks day dreaming about what we would do with millions of dollars. Since Rogan and Ditzel have that aforementioned prenup signed, we don’t know exactly how much she is worth. But it is believed she’s earned upwards of $500,000.
Ditzel is hardly crying poor, but that isn’t exactly the kind of fortune that most people dream about having down the road.
Rogan, on the other hand, has made some significant financial gains over the past few years. It was previously believed that his net worth was somewhere in the neighborhood of $30 million. Most of that initial nest egg was earned from his work on network TV, touring as a standup comedian, and of course as a UFC commentator.
Like I said, his fortune has taken a big step forward in recent years. This is due to his increased influence—which by the way seems to have hit an exponential curve… And of course, there’s the lucrative deal he signed with Spotify for the exclusive rights to his popular podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
Meet the Rest of the Rogan Family
Joe has legally adopted Jessica’s daughter, Kayja Rose, whom she had during her marriage with Dino Conner. The couple has also had two more daughters together.
Lola was born in 2008, before Joe and Jessica had officially gotten married. The couple then welcomed Rosy into the world in 2010, a year after the wedding.
By all accounts the three girls get along despite the huge age gap and having different fathers. Considering how peaceful the Rogan household seems to be compared to other Hollywood homes, maybe their overly private approach to life should be practiced by more celebrity couples and families. Kudos to Joe Rogan and his wife, Jessica!
