LeBron fans are not going to like this one.
Julius Erving put together his top all-time NBA teams, and he left off LeBron James completely.
Erving’s all-time teams:
First Team: Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Elgin Baylor
Second Team: Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Karl Malone, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
In an appearance on Posted Up with Chris Haynes, the Hall of Famer explained his rationale for leaving off LeBron James.
James “has led the charge in terms of superteams.”
“When he put together a team in Miami, he put together a team in Cleveland as well, and he put together a team in Los Angeles. So, he can pick his own team. I ain’t going to pick his team.”
Erving has already gone on record to state his displeasure with another superteam this season, saying on Inside the Green Room with Danny Green that the Brooklyn Nets are “buying a championship” by signing multiple stars.
Anybody that can carry players like Shannon Brown, Daniel Gibson, and Damon Jones to the NBA Finals should warrant them on a spot on anybody’s all-time list.
