REPORT: Bears Tried To Trade Nick Foles Back To The Eagles & Other Teams; Nobody Wanted Him
Justin Fields is clearly the future of the Chicago Bears after being selected by the team during the 2021 Draft. The Bears currently have a QB room with Fields, Andy Dalton, and Nick Foles.
In a recent appearance on the “Ferrall Coast to Coast” podcast, SiriusXM NFL reporter Adam Caplan noted that the Bears attempted to trade veteran QB Nick Foles back to the Philadelphia Eagles as well as other teams, but nobody wanted him.
“They fully guaranteed his $8 million back in March,” Caplan said. “He’s on the football team. He’s not moving. They tried to trade him to Philly and other teams. Nobody wanted him. He’s still there. He’ll back up Dalton this season.”
The 32-year-old former Super Bowl MVP only threw for 1,852 yards, 10 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in nine games during the 2020 season.
He has been unable to recreate the fire he had with the Eagles when he led them to their first Super Bowl in franchise history.
That $8 million salary is likely a big reason why there’s no interest in Foles.
