LeBron James might have donned the number 23 for many years now, but now it is time for a change.
On Wednesday, it was announced that the Lakers superstar was changing his number to 6 for next season.
James is out for vengeance after the Los Angeles Lakers’ first-round exit to the Phoenix Suns.
“PROMISE YOU I WILL. Count me out if you want too!” he wrote on Instagram with a clip from the movie Gladiator.
After suffering an ankle sprain in late March, James missed 27 games, the most games he hasn’t played in one season in his 18-year career. Once James and Anthony Davis with his calf strain went out of the lineup, Los Angeles plummeted to the seventh seed.
All of Los Angeles’ woes culminated in its first-round exit, which was sped up when Davis went down with a groin strain.
