Jameis Winston is in the midst of a QB battle against Taysom Hill, but don’t ever confuse him for a graceful running back that can run through tackles.
He proved that much when he went viral on social media by failing to run properly through the a tackling machine.
The former Florida State star eventually took to Twitter and explained what happened.
“That second pad on the left got me with that hit stick,” Winston tweeted moments ago.
Winston started for five seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before taking a backup role with New Orleans in 2020. Winston passed for 19,737 yards and 121 touchdowns for Tampa Bay after the Bucs took him with the first choice in the 2015 NFL Draft.
After passing for a league-leading 5,109 yards in 2019, Winston threw for 75 yards in the 2020 regular season for the Saints, although he tossed a 56-yard touchdown pass on the only playoff snap of his career last season.
