The 1-9 Southern Miss Golden Eagles will be playing their game on Friday against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, but will be doing so without a quarterback.
Their depth chart was released and it did not show a QB on there.
First-year head coach Will Hall told reporters he plans to have six or seven players at quarterback.
Southern Miss has the worst offense in college football, and it not going to get any better today. The team hasn’t hit 260 yards in any of the last five games, and they turn the ball over a lot. The Golden Eagles have given the ball away 17 times in the last six games.
Redshirt sophomore Trey Lowe was lost for the year in Week 2, and backup Ty Keyes lasted three games before he got injured.
QB Jake Lange was the scout team quarterback for Southern Miss, then four days later, the Golden Eagle freshman walk-on passed for 304 yards in his collegiate debut in a 24-19 loss at Rice.
For whatever reason, the head coach thinks the team is better suited having a revolving door of players play the position. Among the many players who will run the position will be starting running back Frank Gore Jr.. The name says it all.
