Oreo cookies are a part of almost every person’s childhood. Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is no exception.
While speaking with the media after last night’s win over the Pistons, one reporter went a little off topic and asked the two-time MVP is Oreos and milk were on his Thanksgiving menu, Giannis couldn’t resist the urge to share a hilarious story about how he was introduced to the combo recently.
Stephen Watson of WISN12 News was the one who asked the question, and he did so because of this Tweet that Giannis posted on Tuesday:
So when Giannis was asked about Oreo cookies and milk, he just had to tell us all about it.
In short, Giannis could never really afford Oreos growing up. So when he came into the league, that was pretty much all he was eating. Eventually he got sick of Oreos from eating them for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day for a few months. But then, on Thursday while shooting an ad with some children, one of them asked him if he had ever tried Oreos in milk.
Giannis admitted he didn’t, then threw a couple of Oreos in a glass of milk, scooped them out, and was left in shock. He loved them! And he couldn’t believe his mother kept this secret from him his whole life.
Here’s the story from Giannis’ mouth. Trust me. He tells it a lot better than I do:
This man truly is an international treasure. I hope Giannis gets all the Oreos and milk that his heart desires this Thanksgiving Day.
