Ja Morant is a rich young man who doesn’t need to prove anything to anybody, but for whatever reason, he feels the need to prove he is from the ‘hood’ to internet trolls.
The Memphis Grizzlies got eliminated from the playoffs by the Golden State Warriors, which was made much easier after Morant got hurt and couldn’t come back to play in the series.
Since then, he has been making headlines over things he posts on social media. Most notably, he got into a back and forth with Draymond Green after the Warriors won the NBA Championship.
When someone asked Morant why he was “thuggin” even though he is already rich, the Grizzlies superstar responded and emphasized that he has always been like that and has zero plans of ever stopping.
BlazeMoving: “Ja why do you get on here thuggin, you are rich.”
“Cuz da money won’t ever change me. Been on dat, still on dat, forever on dat, won’t ever speak on it,” Morant wrote on Twitter.
Somebody close to Morant needs to talk to him because there is always somebody out there tougher and more dangerous than you and you hope to never meet that person.
Be rich, play basketball, and stay away from anything related to the streets.
Morant, 22, just had a breakout season in Memphis. Through 57 games, he averaged 27.4 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game on 49% shooting.
For the first time in years, the Grizzlies looked like a real force in the West. They finished 2nd in the standings with a 56-26 record overall and made it to the second round before being kicked out by the Warriors.
