Mattress Mack has a ton of money coming in and a lot of going out any time he places a bet on teams.
Jim McIngvale, also known in Houston as “Mattress Mack,” is continuing his tradition of placing big bets on the Houston Astros to win the World Series.
The Gallery Furniture store owner placed a $2 million bet on the Astros to win. If the team comes through, he’ll win back $10.6 million.
McIngvale is known for making large bets for Houston-area teams including the University of Houston Cougars during the Men’s NCAA College Basketball tournament. He’s also placed bets on the Super Bowl, the College Football Playoff, the Kentucky Derby, and March Madness.
Previously, he told Darren Rovell he lost “more than $13 million” in bets after the Washington Nationals defeated the Houston Astros, 6-2, in Game 7 of the World Series.
Once Mack puts his bet down for a team to win, it’s pretty much a guarantee that the team he bet on will not win a damn thing.
