Felix Verdejo is a person of interest in an investigation of a missing woman in Puerto Rico.
“The 27-year-old lightweight from San Juan has been summoned to meet with authorities who are presently detailed to search for Keishla Marlen Rodriguez Ortiz, also 27 and who has been missing since Thursday morning. Verdejo and Rodriguez were alleged to have been romantically involved at one point, according to a report from Puerto Rican news publication El Vocero.
According to the investigation, the last known location for Rodriguez was at Verdejo’s home where she allegedly arrived with a pregnancy test in tow and to inform the boxer that he was the father.
Rodriguez was declared missing after it was learned that she was absent from her job Thursday morning. The case was first reported after Bereliz Nichole, Rodriguez’s sister posted a video on her personal Facebook page to reveal that her sister was missing and asked for her fellow islanders for help in finding her.”
Verdejo’s wife confirmed to police that she knew of Marlen’s relationship with Verdejo.
Verdejo appeared with two attorneys at the San Juan CIC Police offices Friday.
The report stated Verdejo “did not cooperate” during the interview, but instead remained silent on the recommendation of his lawyers.
“The interview we did with him was because Keishla’s relatives allege that they had a relationship and we summoned him to ask him if he knows of Keishla’s whereabouts, if he has seen her or if he has had communication and that was our mission. He did not answer any of the questions ”, established the captain.
Verdejo, 27-2, was last in the ring this past December on the Top Rank Las Vegas show, losing to Masayoshi Nakatani in the ninth round on the undercard of the Shakur Stevenson-Toka Kahn Clary main event.
His career has been put on hold.
