Imane Khelif has had enough.
Just days after World Boxing declared that female boxers must complete a mandatory gender test to compete, a new report sheds more light on the Olympic gold medalist.
In an article published by Alan Abrahamson of 3 Wire Sports, the leaked medical records from Khelif’s tests carried out in 2022 and 2023 ahead of the Paris Olympics have now been made public.
Khelif – a 26-year-old who has long maintained she is female — was found to have male XY chromosomes in a 2023 test carried out by an accredited Indian doctor.
“Chromosome analysis reveals male karyotype,” read the test results.
Documents show that Dr. Lal Path Labs, a New Delhi lab accredited by the American College of Pathologists and certified by the International Organization for Standardization, conducted the test before that tournament.
Despite the findings, the IOC dismissed the test as “not legitimate” and “ad hoc,” according to the Telegraph, and allowed Imane Khelif to compete in the women’s division at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Khelif broke her silence this week.
An Instagram post was shared on Monday but did not acknowledge the test.
The post, celebrating Unicef’s ‘Global Day of Parents,’ featured a photo of Khelif in a blue polo bearing the organization’s logo as she formed a heart with her hands.
Imane Khelif paid tribute to her own parents for supporting and standing by her.
‘Today, I became a champion, but it all started long ago,’ she began. ‘When my parents believed in me, even when the dream felt too big. When they supported me, listened to me, and stood by me.
‘Being a parent isn’t easy. There’s no manual. But the love, patience, and trust you give your child can change everything.
‘On this #GlobalDayOfParents, I just want to say thank you. Thank you to every parent who chooses, every single day, to be there for their children.
‘Together with @unicefalgerie, I’m celebrating these everyday heroes. Because when parents are supported, children can dream and succeed.’
Imane Khelif Not Allowed To Fight Until Mandatory Sex Test

World Boxing has announced that any athletes competing in women’s categories must undergo “mandatory sex testing” while specifically singling out Imane Khelif.
On May 30, BBC Sport reported that the 26-year-old would “not be allowed to fight in the female category at World Boxing competitions until she undergoes a mandatory sex test.”
In this case, the test would be used to study chromosomes.
World Boxing wrote that athletes would be eligible to compete if they have the “presence of XX chromosomes or the absence of Y chromosome genetic material (the SRY gene) or with a DSD where male androgenization does not occur,” effectively only permitting intersex people who present as women and don’t produce substantial amounts of testosterone. It added that those who do not pass “will be eligible to compete in the male category.”
World Boxing also included a letter it sent to the Algerian Boxing Federation, in which it said: “Imane Khelif may not participate in the female category at the Eindhoven Box Cup, 5-10 June 2025 and any World Boxing event until Imane Khelif undergoes genetic sex screening in accordance with World Boxing’s rules and testing procedures.”
