A passenger jet was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff after getting hit in the air.
The aviation industry hasn’t had the best start to 2025, with grim incidents occurring every week.
The United States experienced its worst disaster since November 2001 after a military helicopter flew into a commercial flight over the Potomac River last month. Another major incident took place this week, with an airplane flipping over after landing at the Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday.
Just days later, a LATAM Airlines flight had to make an emergency stop after hitting a bird and taking significant damage. The Airbus A321 had just taken off from Galeao Airport in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when pilots experienced a bird strike.
Officials revealed that only one bird smashed into the front of the plane, yet it left a massive hole.
Photos have since surfaced online, which you can check out below:

No One Was Hurt In This Latest Aircraft Incident Involving Passenger Jet In Brazil

Fortunately, the pilots flying the passenger jet in question had no problems getting the plane back on the ground, and no one was injured. The number of passengers on board is unclear, but the plane can accommodate 200 people.
This is the second notable aviation incident to occur in Brazil over the span of the last two weeks. The people involved in the first one were not so lucky, as a BEECH F90 King crashed at Marques de Sao Vicente Avenue, hitting a bus and killing two people.
We can’t remember a time when planes and other aircraft were involved in accidents this often, but it’s about time they stopped.
