Donald Trump has addressed the tragic circumstances that saw over 200 people lose their lives following an Air India flight crashing in Ahmedabad shortly after takeoff on Thursday.
The United States President described the crash as “terrible” while pledging his country’s full support.
“I’ve already told them—anything we can do… we’ll be over there immediately,” Trump said, although he suggested that India was a large nation that would likely take care of themselves.
He also referred to the tragedy as “one of the worst crashes in aviation history.”

“I gave them a couple of pointers, we saw the plane, and it looked like it was flying pretty well, it didn’t look like there (could be) an explosion. It just looked like maybe the engines lost power,” Trump said.
The President made it clear that the U.S. is ready to provide investigative and relief efforts, joining several other world leaders in doing the same.
