“Yosemite Sam” is a familiar cartoon face to both adults and children.
Unfortunately, the image adorned bricks of cocaine that washed up on Walton County shores over the weekend. The image was stuck onto each of the heavily taped black packages found on Sunday by a beachgoer, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office explained.
A beachgoer on Sunday morning stumbled across nearly $500,000 worth of cocaine wrapped in the popular Looney Tunes antagonist.
It can complete with his big red mustache, six-shooters, and standing guard over 25 kilos (55 lbs.) of the drugs. The Sheriff’s Office estimated that the amount of cocaine would be worth approximately half a million dollars.
Deputies have since confiscated the Yosemite Sam drugs and taken them into evidence.
Officials are cautioning beachgoers not to touch suspicious packages and to contact authorities immediately.
