Brigitte Murphy has seen better days.
The woman, who is vying to become the 2025 Miss Universe Australia, revealed a brutal injury weeks before the pageant.
Murphy, representing Victoria, suffered a large scab and bruising on her face after falling on a netball court weeks before the competition was scheduled to take place.
“I just can’t believe this,” Murphy said in the first of a series of clips shared on her TikTok account.
The Australian beauty pageant finalist, who is also a qualified vet, will represent Victoria in the 2025 Miss Universe Australia competition.
Brigitte Murphy sustained the serious facial injuries two weeks before she was meant to fly to Vietnam for a swimwear shoot with photographer Jarrad Seng.
“I played netball and as I was mid-air catching the ball, I was pushed and I had about point five of a second to turn around and brace myself,” she explains in the video.

She added that it was “the worst possible case scenario,” apart from breaking bones that would prevent her from walking.
“I mean, if you don’t laugh, you cry – right?” she adds.

In a follow-up video, the young Australian explains that her GP expressed concerns about a facial fracture, but thankfully, a CT scan revealed that she was in the “all clear.”
A dentist also confirmed that there was “no chance” of the tooth dying due to the fracture.
