President Donald Trump rarely backs down from the opportunity to publicly call out his enemies, but Friday was an exception.
One of the top stories in the world right now is the stunning breakup of President Trump’s close friendship with Elon Musk. The latter spent $288 million on Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and became a key member of the president’s inner circle before leaving his role at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) last week.
Since Thursday morning, Musk has gone on a blistering rant against Trump and the supporters of “The One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” Perhaps the most shocking attack on Trump happened in the afternoon, when Musk claimed that the president is on the Jeffrey Epstein files:

On Friday, cameras caught Donald Trump declining to answer multiple questions from reporters at the White House. This included an inquiry where a reporter asked if he’s “spoken to Elon Musk” before boarding his plane:

Musk worked closely alongside Trump before and after the latter began his second presidential term. He appeared at Trump’s rallies and used X/Twitter (which he’s owned since October 2022) to spread voter misinformation, obviously a benefit to his friend’s campaign.

Trump and Musk are both billionaires, and getting richer and more powerful has been a mutual goal. That’s why it wasn’t a surprise when they joined forces last year. That’s why it’s shocking to see their friendship unexpectedly implode.
Donald Trump & Elon Musk Won’t Back Down From This Fight
Regardless of whose side you’re on, one thing isn’t up for debate: Musk and Trump have shown over and over again that they both have too much pride to back down from any public beef. Both love stirring the pot, and both feel like they must get the last word in.
So don’t be surprised if this public beef drags on. Quite frankly, it may never end.
